Waterfront Players to hold tournament next Saturday

The Key West Players at the Waterfront Playhouse are sponsoring a "just for fun" mixed doubles tennis tournament beginning at 7:45 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 7, at Bayview Park and Higgs Beach courts.

Individuals can get a registration form at the courts or at 1800 Atlantic courts. Individuals will be randomly paired and play seven matches in a round robin with changing partners. The top man and woman in morning play at Higgs Beach and at Bayview will square off at 3 p.m. at Bayview Park. An awards ceremony will follow. Entry fee is $40 per person.

Every participant will receive two-for-one passes to a Waterfront Playhouse production. Winners will receive warm-up suits provided by Adidas.

Pairings and court assignments will be at 7:45 a.m. at Bayview with matches at 8 a.m. Deadline for early registration is Wednesday, Feb. 4. The tournament is limited to the first 30 men and 30 women who register. Water, fruit, snacks and tennis balls will be provided. Rain date is Sunday, Feb. 8.

John and Kay Behmke/Compass Realty are sponsors of the tournament. Paul Findley at Island City Tennis will act as officials for the tournament. For more information, call 305-393-6273.
