KEY WEST - After a five month hiatus, the Key West Men's Softball League will resume Tuesday, Feb. 9 at DeWitt Roberts Field in the Wickers Complex.

League president Bobby Lowe said they have 10 teams signed up and are expecting more participants for the 20-game season.

"Coaches from all new and returning teams in the 2010 season are requested to attend a meeting at 6:30 on Tuesday, January 26 at the Wickers Complex," Lowe said.

The first season will run to early April with playoffs commencing at the end of regular season. The second season starts after first season playoffs with another 20 games which will end in July. Entry fee is $700 per team, which includes insurance for each player, which is required by the City of Key West. Games will be played Monday through Thursday nights with games starting at 6:30, 7:45 and 9 p.m.

Lowe said depending on the number of teams signed up will dictate the number of leagues.

"It's very important that all coaches show up Tuesday night so they can determine the number of leagues and vote on the number of leagues," Lowe said. "Ideally we'd like to have 15 teams but we'll take as many as we can get. I've had some interest from military teams and would be thrilled with 15."
