When news came out about the league being formed, I seriously considered to sign up with the league. And without a doubt, I think I would have been the oldest Rookie at 61 to be playing a new sport. Don't think "Cabbage Bar Ball" from years back at Peary Court would have disqualified me from being called a Rookie.

Anyway...

In the newly formed "Jewfish League" - (a Men's +40 Softball league) one team sits on top of the league alone.

It's not often our Coed softball league is mentioned in the KeyNoter, so the more I'm happy to introduce you to Dick Wagner's very likeable column.
I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

Men's Softball Season to open tonight!

Winter Season opens tonight at Wicker's Field!

At 6:30 sharp the new and much improved Wicker's Field will see its first action tonight as the Men's Softball League starts their Winter Season!

Bobby Lowe, League President, sounded slightly disappointed not to reach the expected number of teams, 14, but the deadline had to be held and the League will start with 11 teams.

Also, players have been shuffled around to create more even teams and the 20 game season will be played in one division.
